Sparta, North Carolina (November 8, 2004) – Employees from Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation and Blue Ridge Energies, LLC, were honored for their service during the company’s annual employee awards dinner and celebration recently held at the Helen Powers Grand Hall at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.

Recognized from Sparta were: Tommy Witherspoon, field service technician, for 20 years of service, Steven Carpenter, crew leader, for 15 years service, Leonard Church, field service technician, for 15 years service, Beverly Poole, district operations coordinator, for 15 years service, and Anita Choate, customer accounts representative, for 5 years of service.

Blue Ridge Electric is a not-for-profit, member owned electric cooperative serving some 68,000 member-owners in northwest North Carolina. Its subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, is a propane and heating fuels provider with offices in Sparta, West Jefferson, Boone, Newland, Lenoir and Hickory.
