Lenoir, North Carolina (October 3, 2001) – Jeff Joines, a director of Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, recently earned a Certified Credentialed Cooperative Certificate.
The certificate is awarded upon successful completion of all five Certified Credentialed Cooperative courses and testing in the program’s curriculum. The curriculum reflects the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s commitment to directors, ensuring that they have an opportunity to develop the competencies that will equip them to be successful for their cooperatives as deregulation brings competition to the electric utility industry.
Joines, who represents Caldwell district for Blue Ridge Electric, has served on the cooperative’s board of directors since 1998 and currently holds the chairman’s position of the Policy and Member Relations Committee. He works as assistant judicial division chief for the North Carolina Department of Correction in the division of Community Corrections.
He and his wife, Rita, live in Lenoir.
