Lenoir, North Carolina (May 12, 2007) – Employees from Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation and Blue Ridge Energies, LLC, were honored for their years of service during the company’s annual employee awards dinner recently held at the Helen Powers Grand Hall at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.
Recognized for their years of service were: 40 years: Grant “Bud” Ayers, retired vice president of operations; 35 years: Bill Hall, construction layout technician; Roger Reid, vegetation management manager; and Joe Moore, tool and work equipment specialist; 30 years: Roger Conley, system operator; Bill Terry, retired director of engineering and reliability; and Gary Carswell, applications and support manager; 25 years: Beverly Finney, retired vice president of member services; Robert Kent, director of operations; JoAnn Walker, member services team leader; Dean Wilson, member services representative; and Elmer Dula, retired courier, mail and forms coordinator; 20 years: Jack Bean, system operator; Jeff Benfield, Caldwell district operations manager; Eric Laws, Caldwell district crew leader; Rosey Luse, member services representative; Mike Moore, line technician A; Rand Smith, electric services manager; Tim Story, field service technician; Duane Ayers, lead communications technician; Mike Bryant, accounts payable/procurement coordinator; Paula Pope, director of finance and controller; Dee Strickland, general accounting manager; and Peggy Helton, executive office manager; 15 years: Reba Brewer, system operator/customer information; and Lee Chase, senior vice president and chief financial officer; 10 years: Sandy Bryant, accounting associate; Terry Cox, service supervisor; Lee Greene, sales and delivery; John Hall, operations coordinator; Donna Benge, member services representative; and Jana Wike, land rights specialist; five years: David Blythe, lead service technician; Gene Duncan, lead service technician; Lyle Ford, sales and delivery; Jamey Goins, system operator; Mark Campi, application support engineer and Danette Minton, general accountant III.
