Amy Crowder Named Consumer Accounting Manager at Blue Ridge Electric

Lenoir, North Carolina (January 30, 2007) – Amy Crowder has been promoted to consumer accounting manager for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, a not-for-profit member-owned electric utility serving some 70,000 members in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes and Alexander counties.

Crowder has served more than two years as general accountant for Blue Ridge Electric where she also recently assisted with employee training and process organization for the cooperative’s major software conversion. In her new position, she will supervise the consumer accounting staff and manage the billing and consumer accounting systems for Blue Ridge Electric.

Crowder has a strong background in process automation, client services, technical training and implementation. Before joining Blue Ridge, she worked as an installation supervisor and client services specialist for Infovisa, Inc. of Cornelius and before that as an accounting team leader for the Charlotte office of First Union National Bank, now known as Wachovia.

Crowder received her bachelor’s of arts degree from Queens University in Charlotte, where she double majored in accounting and business administration with a minor in mathematics.

“Amy brings great technical expertise and capable financial skills into this position,” said Paula B. Pope, controller and director of finance at Blue Ridge Electric. “We have benefited from Amy’s contribution and look forward to her leadership in the Consumer Accounting area.”

Crowder lives in Valdese with her husband, Greg.
