Lenoir, North Carolina (July 17, 2006) – Catherine Moore has been named Community Foundation Manager at Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation.
Moore will help manage the Blue Ridge Members Foundation which is designed to generate funds for key, quality of life projects and programs in our local communities. She is also assisting in developing member participation in Operation Round Up, a new community benefit program that expands the cooperative’s BREMCare program, which helps members who need assistance stay warm throughout the winter. With increased member support, Operation Round up will provide valuable support for local communities by funding critical and necessary items and services. A member board will soon be appointed for the Blue Ridge Members Foundation and they will receive, review and approve applications for those receiving Operation Round Up funds.
While Moore’s responsibilities represent all Blue Ridge Electric districts, she is based in the Watauga District office.
Moore brings a diverse background of experience, and she most recently was a self employed contractor in the training and development arena. Her previous work experience has been as a training consultant and she held senior positions in the banking industry.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia.
Catherine and her husband, Robert L. Moore Jr., and their children, Lee and Aynsley, reside in the Sorrento area of Blowing Rock.
