Lenoir, North Carolina (June 27, 2006) - Ralph Seamon has been named engineering manager for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative serving some 69,000 members in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes and Alexander counties.
Ralph brings to Blue Ridge EMC a wealth of experience with electric cooperatives and investor owned utilities. Over the last 24 years his efforts were focused on designing, testing and maintaining electric utility substations. He spent the last 15 years as a consulting engineer with Booth and Associates, Inc. in Raleigh, where he most recently served as vice president of the Substation and Relaying Division. Booth and Associates is a firm with 75 staff members which provides engineering services to cooperatives and municipal electric systems along the Eastern Seaboard from New York to Florida.
Ralph is a registered professional engineer in the state of North Carolina. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University and The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, respectively from each university.
He has been published in several industry trade publications and has presented on a variety of engineering topics at industry events and conferences.
Ralph and his wife Robyn have been married nearly thirty years and recently relocated to Banner Elk. They attend Banner Elk Christian Fellowship. Ralph and Robyn have two grown daughters.
