Raleigh, North Carolina (April 28, 2006) – Jackie Blackburn, a director of Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, was recently elected to the board of directors of The Tarheel Electric Membership Association (TEMA).

It also serves as the cooperatives central dispatching agency during emergencies in order to provide coordinated response to distressed areas.
Blackburn’s election came during NCAEC’s statewide annual meeting held in Raleigh earlier this month.
Blackburn has served on the Blue Ridge Electric board since 1993 and currently serves on the board’s Policy and Member Relations Committee.
Blue Ridge Electric is a local, member-owned electric cooperative serving some 69,000 consumers in the northwest North Carolina counties of Alleghany, Ashe, Watauga, Caldwell, Wilkes, Avery and Alexander. For more information, visit www.BlueRidgeEMC.com.
