Blue Ridge Electric Intern Learning From Summer Job

Boone, North Carolina (July 8, 2005) – An Appalachian State University student is enhancing his classroom studies this summer as he performs an educational, hands-on internship at Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation.

Tyler Craig, a rising senior at Appalachian State University (ASU) and a resident of Boone, is getting front line customer service experience during his summer internship at the Watauga district office of Blue Ridge Electric. Craig will receive classroom credit toward the degree he is pursuing at ASU.

“Tyler has used his communication skills to give our members outstanding customer service,” said Susan Jones, district manager of Blue Ridge Electric’s Watauga office. “This is Tyler’s second year that he’s interned with us, and we have enjoyed having him for the past two summers,” she added.

Craig is majoring in Communications/Organizational Public Relations with a minor in Sociology. At ASU, he’s been in involved in intramural sports and has worked with the Community on Aging. He attends Profits Grove Baptist Church in Boone.

Craig is the son of Sandra Hicks and Ronnie Craig of Lenoir.
