Jeff Named Consumer Accounting Manager at Blue Ridge Electric

Lenoir, North Carolina (August 13, 2004) – Jeff Almond has been named consumer accounting manager for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, a not-for-profit member-owned electric utility serving some 67,000 members in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes and Alexander counties.

Almond served the past seven years as vice president and branch manager of First Citizens Bank & Trust Company in Granite Falls. Previously, he was branch manager of Central Carolina Bank & Trust Company in Hudson. Before that, he was assistant treasurer and loan officer at Citizens Savings & Loan Association in Lenoir. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University and attended Campbell University School of Law as well as the University Of North Carolina School Of Banking. Almond is president of the Hudson Optimist Club, past president of the Granite Falls Rotary Club, and is a board member of The Education Foundation of Caldwell County. He recently served on the cooperative’s Community Leaders Council.

“Jeff brings over 15 years of financial and banking experience to our organization,” said Paula B. Pope, controller and director of finance at Blue Ridge Electric. “His skills in business development, financial reporting, and compliance will be an asset to Blue Ridge Electric and our member-owners.”

In his new position, Almond will supervise the consumer accounting staff and will oversee the billing and consumer accounting systems for Blue Ridge Electric.

Almond lives in Hudson with his wife, Devonda, and their children: Bethany and Jonathan.
