Helton Named Executive Officer Manager at Blue Ridge Electric

Lenoir, North Carolina (August 9, 2004) – Peggy Helton has been named executive office manager for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative serving some 67,000 consumers in northwest North Carolina.
Helton has been employed with Blue Ridge Electric for 17 years. In her new role, she reports directly to Chief Executive Officer Doug Johnson and is responsible for administrative support functions in the executive office and for the cooperative’s board of directors.
For the past 15 years, Helton served as administrative assistant to the senior vice president of distribution services where her role included statistical analysis as well as administrative support.
She was honored by her peers in 2002 with the company’s Spirit Award, an award given annually to the employee who best demonstrates the heart and soul of the Blue Ridge companies and the mission of service they were founded upon.
Helton is a volunteer with Special Olympics, Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce’s Bridge to Bridge bike race, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
She lives in the Cajah’s Mountain community with her husband, Terry. They attend Mountain Grove Church.
