Annual Meeting Winners Announced

Lenoir, North Carolina (June 15, 2004) – Virginia Miller, of Hudson, was the grand prize winner at this year’s annual membership meeting of Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation. Mrs. Miller won a 1997 Ford Explorer that had recently been retired from the cooperative’s service fleet.
Blue Ridge Electric also gave away four $50 bills to member in each of its four service districts.
Winners from Caldwell County were: Jeff Chapman of Lenoir, Gerald Hoyle of Collettsville, Jean Rominger of Granite Falls, and Johnny Richards of Granite Falls.
Winners from Watauga County were: Movita Stanley of Boone, Joseph Browde of Boone, Geraldine Woods of Deep Gap, and David Haas of Boone.
Winners from Ashe County were: James Moretz, of West Jefferson, Roy Roach Jr., of Lansing, Jackson McClure, of Jefferson, and Ruth Lyall of Jefferson.
Winners from Alleghany County were: Phillip Arnold, of Piney Creek, John Howard of Sparta, Earlene Miles of Sparta, and Jack McGrady of Piney Creek.
Additionally, two Florence Millers from Jefferson were winners of the four-pack ticket package from An Appalachian Summer Festival’s Outdoor Fireworks Concert to be held July 31st in Kidd Brewer Stadium at Appalachian State University. Blue Ridge Electric sponsors the concert.
Winner of the Carolina Country gift basket was Lois Robinson of Hudson.
Blue Ridge Electric is a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative serving some 67,000 member-owners in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe and Alleghany counties. The cooperative holds its annual meeting each year on the second Saturday of June to inform its members about the progress of their cooperative. A health fair, information exhibits and children’s program are also available.
