Lenoir, North Carolina (May 17, 2004) – Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation has partnered with Appalachian State University once again by hiring a summer intern to work in their corporate office in Lenoir.

Erin Hudson majored in public relations while attending Appalachian State University. Hudson has begun a summer-long internship in Blue Ridge Electric’s corporate communications office in Lenoir where she will gain new skills and knowledge in several areas of the corporate communications field.

Along with public relations, Hudson also studied business while attending Appalachian State. The skills she learned in the classroom will give her a good foundation and she hopes to build on them while working at Blue Ridge Electric.

“Now that I’ve graduated, I’m excited to get some real-world public relations experience by working in a corporate setting. Any responsibilities that I have while working at Blue Ridge will only improve my understanding of the field and lead me to a brighter future in public relations,” said Hudson.

Hudson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hudson of Pfafftown. She is a 2000 graduate of North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a 2004 graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

Blue Ridge Electric is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative serving some 66,000 members in Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Caldwell, Watauga, and Wilkes counties.
