Blue Ridge Recognizes Employees for Service

Sparta, North Carolina (October 14, 2003) – A group of 42 employees from Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation and Blue Ridge Energies, LLC, were honored for their service during the company’s annual employee awards dinner and celebration at Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.

Four of the recipients are employees of the cooperative’s Sparta district office. They are: Allan Huffman Jr., line technician; Matt Lawson, line technician, Keith Carson, line technician, and Bobby Atwood, who retired earlier this year as warehouse specialist.

Blue Ridge Electric is a not-for-profit electric cooperative serving some 66,000 member-owners in northwest North Carolina. Its subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, is a propane, heating fuels, and commercial gasoline provider with offices in Lenoir, Boone, and West Jefferson, and Hickory.
