Blue Ridge Recognizes Caldwell District and Corporate Office Employees

Lenoir, North Carolina (January 16, 2003) — A group of 33 employees from Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation and its subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, were recognized for their service during the company’s annual employee awards dinner at Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.
Of the 33 recipients, three are employees of the cooperative’s Caldwell district office. They include: Bill Hall, construction layout technician, 30 years; Eric Laws, line technician A, 15 years; and Mike Moore, line technician A, 15 years.
Eleven other recipients are employees in the cooperative’s corporate office in Lenoir. They include: Sue Laws, who recently retired as a general accountant, 40 years; Joe Moore, tool and work equipment specialist, 30 years; Nancy Steele, customer service center representative, 30 years; Gary Carswell, applications support manager, 25 years; Beverly Finney, senior vice president of the Public and Employee Relations Group, 20 years; Nan Holloway, consumer accounting manager, 20 years; Jack Bean, lead system operator, 15 years; Peggy Helton, administrative assistant for the Distribution Services Group, 15 years; Reba Matthewson, general accountant 1, 20 years; Dee Strickland, general accounting manager, 20 years; and Brad Shields, director of information technology, 5 years.
Five service award recipients are Blue Ridge Energies employees based in Lenoir. They are: Rosey Luse, admin-istrative assistant, 15 years; Johnny Beaver, lead service technician for gasoline operations; Sandy Bryant, operations coordinator, 5 years; Terry Cox, service supervisor, 5 years; and Martha Shell, services coordinator for gasoline operations, 5 years.
Blue Ridge Electric is a not-for-profit electric cooperative serving over 64,000 consumer-members in northwest North Carolina. Its subsidiary, Blue Ridge Energies, is a propane, heating fuels, and commercial gasoline provider with offices in Lenoir, Boone, and West Jefferson, Sparta, and Hickory.
