Lenoir, North Carolina (August 22, 2002) – Amanda Huffman, employee services specialist for Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, recently earned her Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Gardner-Webb University.

being employed by the cooperative
and, therefore, the first employee to
receive a special cash award designed
to recognize employee’s efforts in
advancing their education and contributing to the company. The Employee Skill Development Award Huffman received from Blue Ridge Electric is part of the company’s Incentive Compensation Plan that rewards employees for knowledge, commitment, and performance.
A graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College with a degree in economics, Huffman is a certified senior human resource professional. She and her husband Alan live in Granite Falls with their son, Alex, and daughter, Adele. She is active in the Society for Human Resource Management and the Granite Falls Rotary Club.
