Blue Ridge Electric Announces Retirement

Lenoir, North Carolina (January 08, 2001) — Sam Patterson, project specialist, recently retired from Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation after a career spanning nearly 38 years.
Patterson was hired at the cooperative in 1963 as a custodian and was later promoted to line crew equipment operator. Through other promotions, Patterson held positions of warehouseman, operations coordinator for Caldwell district, and most recently, project specialist in the distribution services group.
Patterson is a graduate of Freedman High School and attended Fayetteville State University. He is a volunteer with the Caldwell Chapter of the American Red Cross where he is a former chairman. Patterson is also a member of the Caldwell County Planning Board and the Caldwell Memorial Hospital Foundation Board.
He and his wife, Freda, have four children and eight grandchildren.
