Solar Water Heater Rebate:
Program Description

Solar water heaters are a cost-effective and environmentally responsible alternative to conventional methods of producing domestic hot water. In response to mandated legislation and compliance with the North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standards (REPS), Blue Ridge Electric (BRE) offers a $500 rebate to Members of the cooperative as an incentive to install solar water heaters. Members benefit from the solar technology through electric utility bill savings and sound environmental stewardship; BRE benefits by reducing its peak demand and reliance on power production from fossil fuels.
