Next Energy Star Tax Holiday Scheduled

The next Energy Star™ Tax Holiday is scheduled for Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, for specific Energy Star qualified products sold during the first weekend in November.

An “Energy Star qualified product” is defined as “a product that meets the energy efficient guidelines set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Department of Energy and is authorized to carry the Energy Star™ label.” Qualified products are exempt from all State and local sales and use taxes if sold between 12:01 A.M. on the first Friday of November and 11:59 P.M. the following Sunday.

The following Energy Star qualified products will be exempt from tax during the holiday period:

clothes washers
freezers
refrigerators
central air conditioners
room air conditioners
air-source and geothermal heat pumps
ceiling fans
dehumidifiers
and programmable thermostats.
