The 2012 Annual Membership Meeting, Thursday, June 14, 2012, 7 p.m. at the Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir

When more than 9,000 members opted to vote for directors by mail last year, Blue Ridge Electric knew members appreciated a convenient way to participate in the business of their cooperative. With Annual Meeting attendance on the decline, member involvement through new methods was emerging as an important option.

The result: A new format for this year's Annual Meeting, as well as multipleoptions to elect directors. These include an online option for members to vote by Internet, as well as voting by mail or during the annual meeting. (The deadline for both voting options is June 6 by 5 PM.)

The following changes were approved by your Board of Directors in order to continue holding down costs for our members while giving you even more convenient, modern ways to vote for your directors:

The annual meeting will be held in Lenoir on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 7 PM, at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center.
It will change to strictly a business meeting format with financial and other key reports, including board election results.
Annual meeting prizes, registration gifts, food, fairs and entertainment will be eliminated.
Members will be encouraged to vote for their directors by returning the form sent in the mail or by voting online with the new internet option.
Members who vote by mail or internet prior to June 6 will be eligible to win a 32 inch HD TV. Four HD TV’s will be awarded (one per District).
